Hermit Island is the best campground in Maine. They are right on the ocean (Casco Bay actually) and have three or four small private beaches. There isn't a pool or playground if that is what you are looking for though. They also only allow tents, pop-ups and pick-up campers. No RVs.
It is located just south of Bath.
